Hello there! And welcome to my website.
My homepage features an overview of
my commercial and editorial photography
portfolio. The images shown here help to
comprise the five complete galleries listed
above, and include environmental portraits,
food photography, professional headshots,
moments of life, and commerce, the latter
of which includes industrial, healthcare,
corporate, and manufacturing photography.
These are the genres of commercial and
editorial photography that float my boat as
a working professional photographer.
That being said, like most commercial
photographers out there, I do sometimes
shoot other subject matter. So if telling
the story of your brand or life also requires
a product shot or landscape or business
event or architectural image, I am only too
happy to accommodate your needs.
Usually I end up shooting real people on
assignments, as opposed to models.
I'm not opposed to shooting the latter, but
I really do enjoy making nonprofessional
talent look their best. And as an avid cook,
I have no interest in shooting artificial
or fake food that cannot really be eaten.
One thing's for sure though. I do not, have
not, and never want to shoot a wedding.
I'm way too much of a control freak for that,
but my hat's off to those who do it well.
Likewise with engagements, newborns,
senior portraits, and family portraits. Again,
I admire all the photographers out there
who are good at these things, but
the honest truth of the matter is: I'm not.
And while we're on a slightly-negative note,
I also do not shoot video. My apologies.
Yes, I know it limits me, but I still prefer the
challenge of telling a story with a single,
dramatic and compelling image. And, to be
honest once again, I am still working on
being the best still photographer I can be.
(And loving every minute of it!)
My small home studio serves me well
for professional headshots, product pics,
and food photography. Regarding food
photography, my fully-equipped kitchen
and combined studio space is big enough
for most food photography assignments.
I also have a ton of food photography
props, backdrops, surfaces, and cooking
utensils that can be pressed into service.
However, since I both specialize and
enjoy solving location lighting problems,
the majority of my assignments are
those shot on location. Nonetheless, you
can still count on me to show up with
half a ton of studio lighting and grip gear
to help me get that perfect shot. Yes, I
admit it. I sometimes have GAS. (What we
photogs call Gear Acquisition Syndrome.)
I hope you like what you see here,
and that someday soon I may be of service
to you by telling your story, furthering
your cause, or increasing your bottom line.
Thanks for dropping by. And all the best.
